My “live-in trivia pardner” (aka Mike) and I signed on for a “twisted titles” Sporcle Live game hosted by Honolulu-based host named Remy. What was the gist? Well, all answers would have one letter swapped out for the correct letter resulting in a “funny” answer. I think we first encountered this category at a trivia tournament several years ago – these questions certainly require a bit of mental gymnastics (which is way easier than doing actual gymnastics). Oh those things those little tiny women did in the Olympics – my joints hurt just thinking about it (ugh)!

We opted to use our breakout room, even though it was just the two of us sitting on our couch. We got a little goofy with the Zoom camera

We didn’t do too badly on this question set, only drawing a complete blank on one of them…

The questions:

1. Bands – Scott Stapp’s band named themselves for an excessive desire for more money before they got rich with songs like “My Sacrifice” and “With Arms Wide Open.”

2. Musicals – The number of members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints increases dramatically in a short amount of time (no clue on this answer).

7. Animated TV – A man’s facial hair is used to defeat Professor Coldheart and Lord No Heart in a series that debuted in 1985. We almost got into a little trouble here since neither of us were watching animated shows in 1985, but we got it…

8. Dr. Seuss – A 1963 book about a father who is trapped underneath a large domesticated pig,

9. Britney – Britney brags to wet cleaning implements that she has completed doing something that she’s already done before.

10. State Capitals – The name of the second-least populous state capital is also a verb meaning to “make a hole through.”

Mystery – 2018 films

The correct response to each part is the title of a 2018 movie with just ONE letter changed.

Got all of these. We and three other teams were tied for second with 62 points.
