A storm system swept through my area of Michigan Thursday afternoon triggering tornado warnings, and ultimately knocking out power for thousands of customers.

As seasoned campers, my husband and I have a variety of gadgets and gear to keep us from cursing the darkness and even the heat.

it’s not ideal, but we have some hard seltzers and hop waters chilling in a cooler with ice furnished by my mom’s refrigerator ice maker. I’m listening to rock tunes in my little radio. Our portable DVD player is all charged up and ready to entertain us later on.

My husband works from home and was able to catch up on some work earlier at my folks house.

Maybe I’ll be able to write a recap of a trivia game I played Wednesday night when the power is back!
