I placed a pickup order for some drinks that I plan to bring camping in a couple of weeks.
By “drinks,” I mean those without – or very little – alcohol.
Pickup orders are great! You just need to go to one area of the store if you’re going inside, or just wait in your car if the store offers curbside pickup.
You’re also not tempted to buy “impulse” stuff if you shop this way, too.
Here’s what I picked up today:

I’ve already tried the Thirst Mutilator, so I know I’ll love it.
I picked Blue Moon because I like the citrus wheat style, the price was right and…
Because Cheboygan Brewing Company (which makes the blood orange honey wheat that I love) doesn’t make any NA beers at this time.
Neither does Bell’s, which makes the popular seasonal citrus wheat beer. Oberon.
Honestly, I wish Bell’s would step up and make at least one NA or zero proof offering. Their competitors in Michigan already do just that.
Founders Brewing Co. makes both a hop water and a NA beer called “Nonetheless.” I’ve tried both and they’re good!
Shorts only has the Thirst Mutilator hop water at this time. But it is very tasty!
As for the Sierra Nevada beer I picked, I’ve heard good things from others about their NA offerings. And I wanted an “easy drinker” (not too hoppy) for hanging out by fires.
Most importantly? when I buy drinks for a trip, I want to be able to return them locally. No “weird” brands!
Younger people are choosing not to consume alcohol more than they have in the past. Older folks are also tapering off alcohol consumption or eliminating alcohol as well.
The smart producers of booze will adapt to these trends, or lose market share if the “dry” trend continues.
But what would I know about business? 😆
My husband still drinks, so I like to “play along” and have drinks with him, even if they don’t get me buzzed or…obliterated 😂
I have some stories about my drinking days, that’s for sure 😲😳
I honestly don’t know if my drinking days are done for good. I do have issues with moderation, so if I decide to start drinking, I’ll have to impose limits.
In the long run, it may be easier for me to just stop drinking completely rather than impose limits on myself.
I’m in charge of making that decision if – and when – I do.
In the meantime, it’s nice not having any more hangovers. Or waking up feeling really shitty. And I know it’s great for my health.
The up side for my husband, is he always has a designated driver now!
