My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary yesterday. It was a low-key affair. since I had to work so we just relaxed at home. Today, however, we plan to go have a late lunch at a restaurant “in the country.” We did our real “celebration” of this landmark event earlier this month since it worked better for my husband’s work deadlines.
Later, we’ll do a virtual trivia game. We had thought about going to a live game, but both of us are not on board with the idea. That’s the key to a successful marriage – always remembering you’re part of a team!
Here’s what I posted to social media to mark the occasion:
Here’s a list of some noteworthy things that happened in the year 1997 – the movies Titanic, Good Will Hunting, As Good as it Gets and Men in Black were released in theaters, Buffy the Vampire Slayer debuted on TV, Bill Clinton was inaugurated for a second term, actress Chloe Grace Moretz was born, the Spice Girls sang that annoying, annoying song, Heaven’s Gate Cult members tried to enter actual heaven by killing themselves, Princess Diana died, Helen Hunt turned in an Oscar winning performance in As Good as it Gets and an Emmy winning performance in Mad About You (which I think made awards history or something), the comet named Hale-Bopp made the news, Macarena earwormed its way onto the Billboard charts, a band called Squirrel Nut Zippers taught us how to spell damnation and…what else? Oh yeah, Mike and I got married. Happy anniversary!
We may not be perfect people, but we’re pretty darn close to being perfect for each other (though we have our imperfect moments together for sure):

Happy anniversary to you both!
