On this date in 2018, Thanksgiving was already over with. On this date last year, I was attempting in vain to recover from working a “graveyard shift” on Thanksgiving.
Fast forward to 2019, and Thanksgiving is STILL four days away! I just want it…over with. I don’t get the time off Thanksgiving weekend, I don’t get to go to a family dinner (grumble grumble)…
I’m getting paid for 42.5 hours next week and am scheduled for 34.5 hours. It’s easier for me to “guesstimate” how much I’ll be paid for next week by thinking of my hours in terms of straight time hours rather than considering my Thanksgiving shift to be double time.

Now, my schedule has changed for Black Friday, which means I’m now scheduled 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. instead of 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Yes, it’s more hours, but (whine like Eric Cartman)
– but…I wanted to go to a happy hour after work!
What better way to top off of a month when I’ve been trying to cut back on the drinking – than to tip a few back for happy hour on Black Friday? Denied…
This officially sucks. I can’t wait until this month is…fin.
