About 10 years ago I dove head-first into the sea of trivia addiction. Or you could call it “barhop.” Which means playing trivia games on multiple nights weekly for purposes of bypassing qualifying trivia senifinal games and going straight to tournaments.
Yeah…I did that thing! For maybe 2-3 seasons? Ish?
Eventually, I decided that qualifying for tournaments the old fashioned way – by winning bar tournaments – was the way that my team was gonna go.
Chalk that up ito my “rubber meets the road” mentality!
While I was “barhopping,” I decided to make Original Gravity Brewing Company one of my regular trivia spots. Occasionally I was able to hustle other players to join me for these games, but on other nights…
I went by myself. Which meant…occasionally driving home in a “not quite totally sober state.” 🚗 😉 🍷 🍻

I’m not proud of myself! On one of my crazy drives home, I took a wrong turn on a roundabout and nearly got lost – in my own damn town!
Some nights when I got lucky and win trivia prizes I’d get into a little…trouble. Two drinks turned into three. I told myself getting another half beer was OK. Way too many to safely drive and pass a field sobriety test.

These were not “light” beers, mind you. I definitely…felt ’em!
It… wasn’t OK.
As for tonight? It was really odd driving home tonight all clear headed and sober!
And…I saw an unfamiliar building along Whittaker. Was it just the Aldi store (which I’m not used to seeing at night) – or has the new Culver’s finally been built? I’ve heard that a new Culver’s is coming to my neighborhood soon!
Tonight, I met some people for a “name that tune” game at a Milan bar tonight (a VFW hall). I had three Labatt N/A beers. Boy were drinks cheap! I paid for a round of two Miller Lite bottles, one Labatt NA and a vodka cranberry all for under $10!
I took this picture from through the window behind me:

As that Madonna song says… “Beauty’s where you find it.” True! 😊🤣
