Just a little note to you faithful blog followers…we won’t be going out for any trivia games tonight. One of our players is out of town, and the other two of us just want to have a nice “night in” tonight. Barring any acts of Ithaqua (Lovecraftian snow monster), we should be back in the trivia saddle next week!
In the meantime, here are some trivia questions I’ve dreamed up over the past week:

A scene from the 1970 film Five Easy Pieces featuring Karen Black and Jack Nicholson, whom were both nominated for their respective roles in the film. Though I think Nicholson deserved the Oscar nod…I was not too impressed with Black’s performance in this movie. Maybe I’m just not a fan of female victim characters.
- Movie Titles – What does the word “pieces” refer to in the 1970 film title Five Easy Pieces?
- Comedy Terms – What is the two-word term for a stock character in comedies and sketch comedy who typically acts as a “foil” to a more “comic” character? Example:- Elmer Fudd would be this type of character in relation to Bugs Bunny.
- Film Terms – The slang term “spaghetti breakfast” refers to what very specific type of film genre? For an extra nerd bonus point, what is the six-letter foreign word describing this film genre?
- Cephalopods – What species of cephalopod is the only member of its species to possess an exterior outer shell? Its name comes from the Latin form of the Ancient Greek word for “sailor.”

DeNiro as Louis Cyphre (aka Satan) in the 1987 film Angel Heart
5. Animated Films – What 2004 animated film is actor Robert DeNiro’s third-highest grossing at the domestic box office? For an extra point, name either of the two films making more money at the domestic box office.
