What Does an “Addiction” Playlist Look Like? 🍷 πŸ’Š πŸ’‰ 🎡 πŸŽΆ

I’m 365 days sober on October 30!

I’m three days away from 365 days of no booze! Except that time when a bartender gave me an alcoholic beer by mistake (I did not finish it when I noticed the mistake).

I haven’t looked back. Sure I wonder why I’d do something this crazy now πŸ™„ But it’s done – and I haven’t regretted it one bit. I’m taking medication that interacts negatively with booze, so it’s a nope.

So many great NA drink options!

I just did it like flipping a switch. Sure I’m addicted to the Waterloo brand of sparkling water now – and I try to have hop waters and NA beer on hand at home at all times. Which is far better for my health.

I’m so much more productive at work now that I’m sober. I do not miss hangovers – at all!

That being said, I used my car’s voice activation thingie to request songs from my USB today.

This is the first car I’ve ever driven with a voice interface for telling my car what to do. So far I’ve only used it for playing specific songs on my USB drive.

Today, I decided that songs about addiction were a good theme, so here’s what I “requested in my car while driving today:”

Needle and the Damage Done, Neil Young

Needle and the Spoon, Lynyrd Skynyrd

Perfect Day, Lou Reed

Hurt, Nine Inch Nails

Mr. Brownstone, Guns ‘n Roses

Running to Stand Still, U2

Never Let Me Down Again, Depeche Mode

She Talks to Angels, The Black Crowes

Lastly…(which might very well be my theme song):

I Won’t Ever Go Drinking Again, Squeeze

“How could I smell like a flower… when I feel like a weed in the rain?”

Those are lyrics from that last song…

I’m not gonna say I won’t EVER drink again. But I’m glad to have put it behind me 😁
