My Favorite Rom-Coms

First off, I’m not really a rom-com sort of gal. So when I say that I like a romantic comedy film, that’s pretty significant!

Please note that not all of these movies listed are technically “rom-coms.” It’s my blog, so…just go with it 😁

Here’s a list of my favorite “rom-coms” in no particular order:

Ten Things I Hate About You

The only movie where Heath Ledger is more adorable is The Dark Knight. What – you don’t think he’s adorable in that one? What movie did you watch? πŸ€” Oh all right then – A Knights Tale. If he were still alive, he could sing any Frankie Valli song he wants to me. Except “Sherry” by the Four Seasons. That is off the table!🀒

The Crow

If you don’t think that this movie is a comedy, you’re not Gen X. Romance? Fuhgeddaboutit. He comes back from the GRAVE to avenge his beloved girl’s death. Go ahead and try to say that’s not romantic (fight me). Or that it’s not hilarious when that guy driving the Yugo yells at a guy for touching his car – and calls him an “ass hair.” Also I think everything David Patrick Kelly says in the movie is funny. But maybe I just have a sick sense of humor. πŸ€”

L.A. Story

Enya soundtrack, Steve Martin, Sarah Jessica Parker before SATC, funny freeway sign dialogue, enema date, Rick Moranis cameo? What more do you need? Great legit date night flick that will make you think, feel, laugh and take you down memory lane.

The Wedding Singer

This movie and The Longest Yard remake are the only Adam Sandler movies I’ve seen that I like. The final scene in the first class section of a jet with the Billy Idol cameo
is basically the whole reason to watch this movie. Also Drew Barrymore is just so cute in this!

Chances Are

Maybe Cybill Shepherd’s attempt to have a more successful movie career than her “Moonlighting” co-star Bruce Willis didn’t work so well. But this movie with its reincarnation themes, a bit of cringe, comedic mishaps and intergenerational love just…hits right. Add to that the Johnny Mathis soundtrack you’ll want to immediately stream. This is a legit date night movie. Mary Stuart Masterson nearly steals the show (her pixie cut is divine). Yes it’s a legit “chick flick” at that (IKR). And pre Marvel Robert Downey Jr. is just so… edible in this (and probably high AF)😊πŸ₯°Β
