We have a couple of music trivia games on the calendar next week. One will be an “away” game in Flint, Michigan.
The raging wildfires in both the US and Canada are devastating on multiple levels. The most obvious being the loss of life – not only untold numbers of adorable ( bunnies and bears) and not so adorable forest creatures (insects), and the loss of human life. Yes those things were listed in order of importance to me 😂 An entire First Nation tribe? Gone. 😢😲
Also loss of property and diminished air quality for everyone caught in the prevailing winds. Michigan,where I live, reportedly had the most toxic air on the planet on Friday June 17, 2026. 🔥 ☠️
On a personal level, I’m very concerned for my loved ones. My mom has underlying respiratory issues – and my mother in law lives farther north in Michigan and has no AC.

My recreation and leisure activities are definitely impacted too. I wanted to check out a trivia spot that offers outdoor games this week now that the scorching heat has calmed down. That is now TBD. I’m also not sure if our camping trip “up north” next weekend can happen, either.
Yes, I know that there are more important things in life than pub trivia and camping. They just happen to be among the most important things to me. But who am I? Nobody important. 😕
My family and their well being are extremely important to me too. My brother lives in the U.P. of Michigan. This means he’s being impacted by Canada and Minnesota wildfires. Double whammy!
Let’s all do a collective rain dance! Or hope that firefighting crews have some luck 🤞
