Here’s a scene from the movie Beerfest (2006). Hard to make a death scene funny, but Sutherland had the acting chops to pull it off! In this scene, he is in a hospital bed drinking beer after beer after beer until he flatlines and goes to the magical fairy land of no more hangovers.
What other movies was he in? Invasion of the Body Snatchers, MASH, Salem’s Lot? He was in a 2004 version of Salem’s Lot, though that is not what I was thinking of. Hey, if you can name at least three films from any actor’s filmography, you ain’t doing too bad!
Didn’t he date Jane Fonda or something? Maybe I’ll have to find out more!

He was one of my favorite actors. He always shined in every role he was in.
He certainly had a stage presence for sure.
And another thing…my parents took me to see Invasion of the Body Snatchers in a theater when I was SiX. The movie scared the crap out of me! I think this might be why it’s difficult for horror movies to be scary to me now. My cherry was popped early! I’ve joked with my parents that I’ll never forgive them for making me watch this movie! 😆
