It was just another evening at home – we sat on our deck outside listening to hooting owls and watching rabbits munch on the grass – until it got too unbearably buggy outside so we said…
“Virtual trivia game then?”
We actually finished in first in this game! No I wouldn’t believe it either…our question set was about as favorable as the question set before that one was unfavorable! There is balance in the universe after all!
Here were our questions:
1 Comedies – A fake ID with the single name “McLovin” is a plot point in what 2007 comedy film?
NERD POINT: The fake ID is a driver’s license from which U.S. state?
Got this for the points and bonus.
2 Candy – Although its name is taken from the German word for “peppermint,” Pez candy was invented in what European country? I wanted to go with another country known for its candy, but my trivia pardner talked me out of it. I’m glad he did!
3 Numbers – What is the first number to repeat as a digit in the irrational number pi?
4 Actresses – What TV series that aired from 2009-2015 stars Courteney Cox as Jules Cobb, a recently divorced, single mother living in Gulfhaven, Florida?
Mystery Round One
We missed #3.
Round Two –
5 Food – What culinary vegetable is combined with olive oil in the Western Asian appetizer baba ghanoush? Whomever invented this is a genius. They not only made this vegetable palatable, but made it delicious! Now I want some of this stuff with warm pita bread…is that place on the west side of town on Washtenaw still open?
6 U.S. Politics – Katie Porter, who has served California in U.S. Congress since 2019, is known for using what tool when questioning individuals during congressional hearings? We joked about putting down “good cop/bad cop routine” as our answer but came to our senses and thought about something else that happened to be correct.
7 Quarterbacks – What NFL quarterback has a younger brother named Jackson, who has become a social media celebrity due to his TikTok videos? Miss.
8 Companies – Bill and David are the first names of the founders of what company, which was started in a garage in Palo Alto, California?
Mystery Two – Visual
It took a bit of thought, but we got all of these. Thank goodness Mike was more knowledgeable about some of these games than I was!
We were in first with 50 points going into the final (I think there were six or seven teams, don’t really remember).
Final Category – Kids’ Books
Charlotte weaves four different messages about Wilbur, including “Some Pig.”
Name two of the other three messages.
Got these. That’ll do, pig! Wrong pig reference?
As always, Go Pods and stay classy, Charlotte!
