I did some shopping and errands earlier on my day off today. The lure of a nice day was too much for me to overcome this afternoon. So I grabbed a book that I started reading on my trip Up North last week (Up North is Michigan speak for basically any desirable locale one trods to for vacations, which are usually…north). The book? Michigan: A History by Bruce Catton. It was one of a handful of items my husband and I inherited from his grandmother’s estate when she died a few years ago. It’s kind of a dense read, but I’m working through it bit by bit!
I’m at the point in the book where copper and iron ore mining started to become a “thing.”
