It’s been a while since I got my trivia “fix!” I think it might have been (gasp) last month when I last played. Tonight’s 7 pm game will be general knowledge, and the 9 pm game will be about ’90s pop culture. Kim will join us for the second game. She said she wanted to do something that didn’t have anything to do with school (LOL). She’s starting her school year virtually teaching high school students. It’s going to be a bumpy ride for everyone!
You know what’s weird? Even though it’s been a while since I’ve played a trivia game, I still managed to keep myself up way too late Monday night trying to answer a trivia question I made up!
For some strange reason, my mind focused on the word “lover.” I think it’s because I was watching a true crime show to try to lull myself to sleep. A common plot line in these shows involves cheating spouses (who usually have lovers on the side… if only my life were that exciting š) The old “Forensic Files” narrator’s voice is like a lullaby to me (his first name was Peter but his last name escapes me ATM). After using the Google, I learned it was “Thomas.” Peter Thomas! Oh how many times have I fallen asleep listening to his soothing – yet creepy – narration skills?
My “lover” trivia question pertains to ’80s music (big surprise). Then my weary mind decreed that the word “lover” would be in the song’s title (sorry, Loverboy, this question is not about you, LOL).
So far I’ve come up with “Loverboy” by Billy Ocean, “To Be a Lover” by “Billy Idol, “Penny Lover” by Lionel Richie and “Part Time Lover” by Stevie Wonder. This is by no means an all inclusive list. There are multiple directions I can go with a question topic like this). I’ll need to dig into the Billboard web site to try to find more “lover” songs.
The songs with the word “lover” in the titles by the guys named Billy are probably my favorites of the ones I listed above.
The Billy Ocean video for “Loverboy” is pretty wild!
