Score! Horehound Cough Drops Found at Dollar Tree!

We stopped  in at a CVS today looking  for cough syrup. Not fancy, no name brand, just the active ingredient (guaifenesin) I wanted. I didn’t  even care if it was flavored or not. Cheapest  was $12, so…nope!

After  visiting an Aldi store for a grocery run, we found a “dollar store” and searched for cheaper  cough remedies. We got two small bags of cough  lozenges and two bottles of cough syrup for $4 plus sales  tax. I will remember  this next time time I get an upper respiratory…thing.

Bonus, my eagle-eyed husband noticed  a bag of herbal cough drops had horehound in them. He knew I wanted horehound drops. Menthol is the only active ingredient  listed, so horehound is just  a “bonus” ingredient. I read about  its benefits  in an herbal  remedy book years ago, and I can say it…works! It helps break up stubborn  coughs, which I learned years ago while  sucking on real horehound hard candy.

Here’s  my haul:
