A Red, White, Blue, and… Independence Trivia Quiz!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! If you live in the United States, it’s a national holiday today, and many cities are marking the occasion with parades or fireworks displays. People may be marking the occasion by having barbecues/picnics, or drinking themselves silly and, possibly, attempting to read the full text of The Declaration of Independence. To start off, I’m marking the occasion by writing this trivia quiz about people, places and things that are red, white, and blue (or any combination thereof) and about independence! Have fun…

  6. Broadway – What Cole Porter musical debuted on Broadway in 1936 and starred Ethel Merman and Bob Hope?
  7. Mascots – What NCAA Div.  1 college’s mascot is the Blue Devils?
  8. ’80s Movies – The song “I Just Called to Say I Love You” by Stevie Wonder won the Oscar for best original song. In what 1984 movie was this song used?
  9. Book Characters – Carrie White is a main character in a horror novel by what writer?
  10. Composers – Which composer wrote the march “Stars and Stripes Forever?”
