Scenes From Mecosta, Morley and …Tom Hardy Grocery/Dam

My husband’s  grandparents  owned this store  near Morley, MI from 1962-1968.

Want to buy a run-down party store? Make an offer!
My mom-in-law used to work as a bookkeeper  in this store for her parents when she was a teen. Living quarters upstairs were used during inclement weather.

Roadside  park near Tom Hardy dam. BTW, the dam/grocery  are not really named for actor Tom Hardy, but they are named for Oliver Hardy. Oh OK, that’s  a joke, too! Uh..Hardy Boys? 🙂

The 87-year-old Oliver Hardy Dam had to be temporarily  closed recently  and be reinforced. Evidence of this can be seen here.

We didn’t  use a horse-drawn buggy in our adventures today, but they are a common sight in Newaygo/Mecosta/Osceola counties.
