I had a couple of trivia teammates at a bar a few years ago and I was reading a list of the “best picture” movie names. What did those two guys do? Turn them into porn names. Around The World in 80 Lays. Hey…whatever helps them remember! My favorite was An American in Paris Hilton. Some others were My Bare Lady, 12 Years a Sex Slave, All Up In Eve, How Reamed Was Her Valley, All Of Her Clothes Off (parody of Oliver).

I thought I’d take a moment to try to remember every single spot me and my team have visited since 2009, when we played our first Motor City Trivia game at Wolverine Brewing Company in Ann Arbor. Yes, that really was where it all began! Who else was playing there around that time? Though we were not even a league team then, and only played sporadically when we could get a “gang” together – we still used the name Miskatonic University Fighting Cephalopods from the very beginning (all Mike’s idea). Three years later we would begin playing “for reals” – as a real league team! And the first place we did this was the “Corner Brewery,” in Ypsilanti, which is now officially called Arbor Brewing Company Microbrewery. We played there weekly for almost three years and, for a variety of reasons, decided it was time to seek greener trivia pastures. So where else have we played?

Here’s a list, which I have alphabetized (some of these spots may not be open anymore, or host trivia anymore), those denoted with an asterisk were regular or semi-regular spots, two asterisks indicate it was a spot we used to advance to a regional tournament. This list includes both Sporcle Live and My Trivia Live games played in regular seasons and for tournament qualifying/tournaments. We played one Geeks Who Drink game in 2017.  I will indicated trivia spots that are either closed or no longer offering trivia nights in the league indicated with a strikethrough.
