Trivia Recap – July 13, 2017 – Wurst Bar

Cheese, toys, fruit and record labels were just a handful of things we were quizzed about in our My Trivia Live game at The Wurst Bar Wednesday. A whopping four teams (including ours) logged perfect first half scores with 40 points, thanks to a fairly easy “and more” question in round two. Our regular “foursome” of myself, MikeBrad and John represented the ‘Pods this time. We finished in second for the night with a $20 gift card, with 70 points heading into the final. And the questions…

3. Halftime – Fruit
The USDA has ruled that canned fruit cocktail must be made of five different fruit. Name four of those five fruits.
Ten teams were in the mix, with four tied for first with 40 points, including Team Pants and us; four others were right behind us tied with 39 points…narrow point spreads!
Round Four
1. Creatures – What Persian legendary creature has the body of a lion, a human head with three rows of teeth and sometimes bat-like wings? And I know someone who used to have a cat named for this creature, but was far more loving than its fierce namesake. Newsletter answer.

2. Food – What semisoft Danish cheese is named for creator Hannah Nielsen’s farm? We did not consider the correct answer to be a “semisoft” cheese…clearly we need to go to cheese school! One of only two misses of the game.
3. Oceans – The Strait of Malacca, a major shipping channel, separates the Pacific Ocean from what other ocean?
Round Six
1. Government Programs – What government program was created by John F. Kennedy in 1961 – with Richard Nixon predicting it would become a “haven for draft dodgers?”
