We got our new-to-us car out of the repair shop today that we bought last weekend.
Monday, when I was driving to work, it…quit.
It was taken to a Subaru dealership in Ann Arbor because it’s still under warranty. Thankfully it was just a minor thing that needed to be fixed. Someone attached jumper cables incorrectly, which caused the battery to hemhorrage power, ultimately causing a fuse to blow, causing the car to basically… shit 💩 itself.
In heavy traffic. Not a good time for me Monday morning. 😢
Another driver dialed 911, which meant I had police officers blocking traffic while we got it sorted out.
Ultimately, a tow truck driver hauled me and the car to the dealership where we bought the car. Later, it was taken to a dealership that specializes in the Subaru make.
I had other drivers literally scream at me for having the audacity to have an immobile car. 😡 I could not even shift the dang car into neutral (newer cars have manual switches for this that I didn’t know about at the time).
The mechanic said it was just a freak, bizarre one-off occurrence.
Riding in two different tow trucks over the course of 10 days and being in two different dying cars at busy intersections is not exactly my idea of a good time!Though I guess I am pretty good at climbing in and out of tow trucks 😜😁
