This music trivia game recap is dedicated to the decades of the 1970s and 1980s – the very best decades for music (fight me)!

OK, Ok, maybe there was some good music in the ’60s and the early part of the ’90s too! And some of this newer music that isn’t too autotuned might be somewhat tolerable too! I did download a Hozier song not too long ago 🤔
Please note that this is not like the normal game recaps I post – so no answers, no question for question rundown. Just do your best to figure out the answers if you dare.
We’ve been in a bit of a slump as of late with our musical trivial pursuits. Not getting either of the final questions correct for a couple of games in a row – enough to make us feel like the rock band Foreigner!
You know – those bands that don’t quite hit #1 even if their #2 hits are massively popular?
We’ve even dropped down to #2 in the league standings! Are there any good connotations to being number two? 💩 😂
On a brighter note, we did manage to win a $20 first place prize AND get a final question correct in our most recent game last week.
I shudder to think how we’ll do in our next game when we won’t have our “lead singer” Kim with us to play 😲
I suppose we can be like Rush without Geddy Lee, the Police without Sting, Led Zeppelin without Robert Plant, Green Day without Billie Joe Armstrong and Destiny’s Child without Beyonce. Imagine Dragons without whomever their singer is (I’m trying)? Everyone wants to listen to those groups without their lead singers, don’t they? 🤔
With the trivia seasons being as long as they are these days, we’ll just do our best to ride things out – like the never ending winter weather we’re having in Michigan! Those poor New Englanders are having it much, much worse right now 🌨
Speaking of New England, we had zero clue about a New England based musical artist that decided to do what anyone does when they have too much money – besides buy K2 sized mountains of cocaine, like movie stars in the 80s…
I know! I’ll buy a sportsball team with my money! 🤑

If you’re wondering what artist this is, it’s the one whose name sounds like someone from Star Trek, who had a song called “The Great Divide.”
We kinda flunked that question! Yeah, this guy bought a sportsball team. He must have been a big fan of the 1980 film “Caddyshack” (who wasn’t). ⛳

Despite not knowing about that guy named Noah whose last name sounds like a Star Trek character played by Ricardo Montalban… We proudly wore our older ages like extremely gaudy ’70s era gold chains by knowing what band sang the Disco hit “Love Train. Isn’t it nice when correct answers just kind of spill out of your brain and eventually your mouth on trivia nights?
Too bad we didn’t know what rocker performed a cover of this song for the ending credits of the 2006 film Final Destination 3. 😔 Now I kind of want to hear it! 🎧
How many of these damn movies have they made as of now?
Speaking of older people stuff, we were also excited to get a mystery round all about 1986 hit songs.
We kicked ourselves a bit for not quite getting the title correct of a “heart” song title by the band Survivor. Shout out to our fearless leader Kim for actually knowing that Survivor had any other songs besides that one about the eye that they used in Rocky III!

The game one final question asked us this:

Kim and I quickly recalled which of his songs that was before they gave us a choice of four audio clips.
Our game two final question was a bit more difficult – I’m going to share a screen capture of the question, but because we had four different audio clues to listen to, the question really won’t make much sense to people reading it. So I’m really just sharing it as an example of how difficult some of the final questions can be in music quiz games:

If we do manage to go out for the next bout of music quiz, we will need ALL of the help that we can get 🥺
As always, Go Pods, Sparty On, and stay classy, Tommy Lee!
