I Think I Might Have An Unhealthy Obsession With the 1996 Everest Disaster! šŸ¤”

This will be the third book I’ve read about the 1996 Mount Everest disaster. It was intended to be a rebuttal to a previously published book by Jon Krakauer.

The first book I read about this event was Into Thin Air by  Krakauer, the second was Left for Dead by Beck Weathers. I hear there’s another one by a female survivor. We’ll see if I still feel like reading more about it after I read this one!

Speaking of disasters, I recently read a book about the Donner Party disaster called The Indifferent Stars Above by Daniel Brown. A survivor from that event had to not only eat her newlywed husband – but her dad too! Though they were most likely eaten by other survivors. Still, that’s some high level PTSD stuff right there. You would never, ever recover from that.

While we’re on the topic of cannibalism – am I eventually going to have to read the book Alive?
