Maybe President James Garfield Had a Reason to Dislike Mondays, Too!

It turns out that President James Garfield may have had something in common with America’s favorite grumpy cartoon cat (no I’m not talking about Sylvester)! Yes, I’m talking about Garfield, that grumpy, spoiled, lethargic cartoon cat who hates Mondays, hates Odie, hates Nermal, but loves lasagna.

Out of curiosity, I looked up the date that James Garfield died, and lo and behold – September 19, 1881 was indeed a Monday! He was shot in Washington, D.C. a couple of months earlier, July 2, 1881 (which was a Saturday). His assassin, Charles Guiteau, was executed for the crime.

Just one of those things I’ve always wondered about but didn’t bother to go down the trivial rabbit hole!
