I never like to make any promises regarding when, where or how we go out for trivia anymore. Life happens, and a multitude of things can happen to stymie your best laid “plans” (and not just for trivia games)!

Tonight, my husband and I will begin a three-night Halloween cabin trip at a place about an hour (give or take) north of us. And since it doesn’t look like we’ll be able to do a campfire because off rain, we decided we “might” check out a trivia night being offered at a bar close to our campground. Or maybe we’ll feel like staying in and watching horror movies instead. We’ll make that decision closer to game time.

Good news is, starting next week, my work schedule starts to get less insane. I even have two whole days off – in a row – that I didn’t have to ask for off in advance! Over the past couple of months, I haven’t had more than one day off in a row and (long exhausted sigh) in a row. It has taken a toll 😔

On the up side, I do get all of the time off that I’ve requested off. I was even able to beg off a Saturday shift for a trivia tournament back in August! I didn’t think we’d qualify for it, so I didn’t bother asking for the day off (go figure). My new boss had just started her job at our location too!

Even if we do go out for a game tonight, it may be a few days before I can post the recap – since the cabin doesn’t have wi-fi. I can type it up on my phone and post it ehen I have a connection. Funny – the cabin is pretty glampy – it has two bedrooms, a futon in thr living area, dining table and chairs, a wet bar, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, heat and even a full bathroom with a shower – but wi-fi?

Outside thr cabin, we’ll have lake views AND access (there is a rowboat we are not likely to use). I think rowboats are silly -because the rower doesn’t get to see where they are going! When I was learning the fine art of boating at Girl Scout camp in the early ’80s, I quickly learned that I was NOT destined to be a wily seafaring lass! And even as an adult, I was never that crafty with personal watercraft. But that’s another blog topic entirely!

I’ll try capitalizing on my other talents instead! Let’s see how we do in that trivia game tonight (if we go)!
