We “had” originally planned to go out for a trivia game on a recent Wednesday evening, but my trivia partner decided that he didn’t feel like going out that night. So I said to him:
“Would you rather do a virtual game then sweetie?” Yes, sometimes I do use terms of endearment that sound a lot better coming out of chain-smoking traditionally uniformed diner waitresses that you’re likely to see in any David Lynch film or TV series! I speculate that Lynch has a fetish for waitress uniforms (and he probably isn’t the only one):
My husband slash “trivia partner” said “yes” to virtual trivia, so I paid the $ and signed us up. Yes, it may seem silly to pay for trivia games that are free to play in bars, and while there are no prizes – and always the thought that the other teams could be cheating a lot more than they would in an in-person trivia game?
Well, there are benefits of virtual games too! You don’t have to get dressed for “going out,” it’s a great option for parents with kids at home, you don’t have to drive anywhere or worry about finding parking, you dont have to wait in any lines for drinks, and – the best part? You can occasionally see your dear friends whom have moved out of state (or just out of city). We got to wish our dear friends Sam and Angela a belated happy 10th wedding anniversary to them! The poor souls had some sweltering heat and humidity down in the “Peninsula” region of Virginia. When your city name of Poquoson translates to “big swamp,” you’re probably going to want a house with a screened porch and central AC!
Dave K., “Mr. E” and their wives Susan and Abbey also joined in on the virtual game.
We didn’t do that well in the game, both final questions were a “nope.” We had our bright moments!

Final Question Game One – Viral Cocktails
In a viral 2022 video posted to HBO’s Tik Tok account, House of the Dragon star Emma D’Arcy said that their favorite cocktail is a “negroni sbagliato,” meaning “bungled” or “mistaken” in Italian.
A traditional negroni is made with gin, vermouth and Campari – what ingredient is used instead of gin in a negroni sbagliato?
This was a question where someone would really know this because they actually use Tik Tok, watched this video and committed this tidbit to memory, read about it someplace and committed it to memory, or…
Made a damn lucky correct guess. This was not exactly a “teamwork” final question like we had last weekend in the Sporcle Events Game we played (boy was that question fun)!
For that question, teams had to name three of the five “big four” sports teams in North America whose names do NOT include any shared letters with the letters in their location/city. Moving on…
