We’ve been out to seven live trivia games at three different spots so far in this current trivia season, which began in August, 2023. Getting back into our pre-pandemic trivia habits has been a slow crawl!

Now that we’re getting back out for games, we’ve taken a liking to the YpsiAlehouse in Ypsilanti, MI. The Sunday afternoon games seldom conflict with my work schedule, and one of my teammates is already a committed barfly at this place! Why waste effort getting friends out for trivia where YOU want to play – when you can go to trivia games at spots your friends happen to be hanging out anyway? 🤔Why, that’s so brilliant it just might work! Also, this bar has a decent drinks selection (and not just beer).

After this most recent game, I’ve decided we just might give Sunday games a shot for the remainder of the season as long as our schedules allow! I do like a competitive trivia scene, and there were some very…talented players in the mix at this last game. Players that have – in the past – really encouraged me to always bring my “A” game just by being in the room (you’ve gotta have teams to beat, it’s the spice of life).

One of my trivia “compadres” even tried luring me out to a spot he’s been playing in a competing trivia league that is starting a new season this week. Ah, I’m not quite ready for that, and my husband doesn’t care for the bar (marriage is a compromise, after all). But I won’t rule out offering my services as a player for teams in this league needing help at tournaments (maybe next season, I’ll be out of town for their semifinals on our annual Halloween weekend cabin trip).

I like to win. I’m not going to lie! My current motley trivia crew isn’t too good at doing that unless we get lucky. This season, we’ve won some second place prizes and a first place at Sticks. Speaking of Sticks, we do plan to return there to play occasionally. Wherever and whenever I play trivia games again, I’m having lots of fun hanging with my OGs of pub trivia!

Any teams trying to overtake us in the standings? You’ll probably succeed! But we’ll give ya a fight anyway!
