We did a “group” trivia game recently involving more than just the normal two players who usually play the virtual games! That doesn’t mean we did any better than we normally do, in fact we did pretty awfully – blowing way too many points to have a chance of making the top 20 teams. Am I exaggerating a bit there? No! OK, maybe a little!
Here were our questions from the doomed game:
1 Notable People What daughter of the chief of the Powhatan people was born around 1596 and died in 1617 near London?
2 Cover Songs What band released cover versions of the songs “Why Can’t We Be Friends,” “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby” and “I’m a Believer” between 1997 and 2001?
NERD POINT: What is this band’s highest-charting single on the Billboard Hot 100?
Miss, But this band’s name describes what we want to do to the singer when he’s singing songs.
3 Languages Which of the following is NOT one of the official languages of the United Nations—Japanese, French, Russian, or Spanish?
4 Kids’ Books What does “BFG” stand for in the book The BFG by Roald Dahl? Miss, but only because our question answerer misunderstood the question. He was really upset about this, though the rest of us players really didn’t care.
Mystery Round One – Visual
5 Vitamins In humans and most other mammals, the synthesis of what vitamin begins when the skin is exposed to ultraviolet B radiation?
6 Las Vegas What Las Vegas resort and casino was given a coastal-sounding name, even though the city in Myanmar that inspired the name is far inland?
7 War What name was given to the surprise attacks by the Viet Cong during an agreed-upon cease-fire to celebrate the Vietnamese New Year in 1968?
8 Catchphrases “Here’s Johnny” is a catchphrase used for almost 30 years to introduce the host of what TV show?
Mystery Two – Food

We were at the bottom or near there with 39 points going into the final.
Final National Parks

Name two of those four parks.

We’re going to try doing the “group” games once a month or so. It’s fun being able to see friends who live too far away to see in person. As always, Go Pods, and stay classy, Jafar!
