We managed to keep the same game standing before and after the final question in a recent virtual trivia game. We wagered zero on a category we weren’t confident about and were in fourth – and ended up in fourth after the final! Not great, but hey, we’ll take the lack of punishment!
We had the game outdoors again on our deck. Unsure how many more of those games we’ll be able to do – the bugs are starting to nip! I got a few bites when I was sitting outside reading today. Those bastards! But the bats gotta eat, don’t they?
We missed questions about words, ’90s music (an audio clue) and the bonus point attached to an arenas question. One of the mystery rounds was handled easily by my better half – the other handled well by me. Isn’t it nice when we can get all 16 of those points?
Here were our questions:
1 Dance What dance that originated in New York in the 1960s shares its name with the Spanish word for sauce?
2 Words What six-letter word is derived from the Latin meaning “three roads?” Mike thought of the correct answer after we turned in a wrong answer…d’oh!
4 1990s Music (AUDIO) The following clip is an instrumental version of what 1997 single? Miss.
Mystery One
5 Scientists Chinese American scientist Chien-Shiung Wu, best known for her roles in the Manhattan Project and the Wu Experiment, is considered one of the most significant experimental researchers in what science? FB Clue.
6 Arenas The newest NBA arena is the Chase Center, which opened in 2019 and is home to which NBA team? Bonus – who is the head coach for this team? Missed the bonus. Yes, we do know “some” sportsball stuff (though not much)!
7 X-Men – What mutant character has been played by Anna Paquin in four films of the X-Men series?
8 Landmarks The last names of John Pass and John Stow appear on what U.S. landmark, which they recast twice in the 1750s?
We were in fourth with 49 points going into the final.
Final Category – Drama Television
Nope. We wagered zero…
Since 1990, five series with titles beginning with “The” have won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. Name three of those five series.
We managed to name one correct one even though we didn’t work too hard on this.
Stayed in fourth after the final. As always, Go Pods, and stay classy, Salieri!
