As of today, we have TWO cabin trips planned in the next month!

We’ll be in the Waterloo Recreation Area near Chelsea for a couple of nights this weekend, renting a 10-person cabin with just the two of us (that will give us plenty of room to socially distance, LOL). No heat, no electricity…just a pump for our water, a charcoal grill outside, a fire pit and picnic table and a short walk to a small lake!

Inside, there is a small cooking area with counters/cupboards, a very large dining table and chairs (perfect for board games), two futons (each sleeping two), and three twin bunks. I’ve already done my “pre-gaming” and found out where to go to get firewood and some other supplies.

Fast forward to October, and we’ll be renting a “mini cabin” at Orchard Beach State Park in Manistee, MI. This cabin will have electricity, heat, fire pit outside, charcoal grill outside, two vault toilets out back (I’ll call the park to confirm whether they will be in use or not) and best of all – a lovely view of Lake Michigan right by our site!

Yes, 2020 has really sucked. But I’m thankful my husband and I have managed to escape for some pretty awesome outdoor adventures!
