Some Sporcle Live locations will be offering pub trivia games in Michigan starting tonight. I have no plans at this time to begin assembling trivia games with my team in the near future, unless games can be played outside. I feel outdoor settings are less risky for transmitting germs than enclosed indoor settings with exchanged air. I will continue monitoring the situation as best I can until determining whether to e-mail my teammates and say…”Hey…how about trivia?”

As for the two main trivia companies I’ve played with over the past several years, they’re starting things again…slowly.

As Sporcle’s pub trivia begins to return in some areas of the country where local guidelines and public health considerations allow, we wanted to share our criteria in deciding when to resume in-person trivia.

1. Both federal and local guidelines allow a bar or restaurant to be open.
2. The bar or restaurant is open and following best practices regarding cleanliness, limited capacities, social distancing, etc.
3. The trivia host feels comfortable resuming work and is taking steps to keep themselves and others safe and socially distanced.
4. The in-person trivia event will utilize our new digital scoring system to collect answers.
