Last night, my insatiable curiosity led to me uncovering an interesting  fact. I was  curious about who became the new Miss America after Vanessa  Williams  had to step down in 1984 because of the nude photos in Penthouse. That woman was Suzette Charles  from… New Jersey.

Then I remembered  in the movie Miss Congeniality (one of my favorite  guilty pleasure “girly” movies, along  with Legally Blonde), that Miss New Jersey was “Gracie Freebush.” Gracie, played  by Sandra Bullock, got her pageant  spot because of another pageant  contestant  being disqualified  for having  been in a porno movie.

I’m  sure this wasn’t  a coincidence!
