Recap Coming…Soon!

Hey blog readers, I just got home from work, had a glass of lime flavored club soda (hits the spot when you’re trying to stay away from booze), and I’m in my “comfy clothes.” That means I’ll be doing a recap of Wednesday’s game at Tower Inn in just a bit!

The chicken pesto panini I ordered carryout last night was a FANTASTIC lunch today! I even got smart and made sure to put the house made potato chips into a separate paper lunch bag (so as not to get soggy), so those were yummy too!

A couple of comments about the game…first off, Mike and Brad really didn’t seem to need me in the game. And that’s not an unusual occurrence. Mike has always been stronger with the MTL league, Brad is good in both Sporcle and MTL – but really shines when we get just the right “old guy” question for him to answer! Turns out he wasn’t QUITE old enough to correctly answer a question about an old Western TV series!

After seeing the Sporcle final questions from last night, I’m like…”Dammit, I should’ve played!” I would’ve known the answers to both of the finals (though it’s not likely I would’ve wagered on the NHL final). Here are the finals from last night’s Sporcle Live games:

GAME 1
Name two of the five most valuable NHL franchises that are located west of the Mississippi River, according to Forbes magazine, as of the 2017-2018 season.
GAME 2
Not including Kosovo, the most recent time that a country in Europe declared its independence from another country in Europe was in 2006, when two countries that were part of a union declared independence from each other days apart. Name either country.
And here’s the final question we had in our MTL game (really really abbreviated):
What was the name of the fictional toy that winds up becoming inhabited by murderer Charles Ray in the 1988 movie Child’s Play?
We knew one part of the answer, but not both…no teams got it, so cautious wagers got the prize.
This is why I continue playing in BOTH trivia leagues! Now I’m really itching to go play a Sporcle game Saturday at Oscar’s. It’s been quite a while since I’ve played there. I might be playing more Saturdays now that my weekday schedule is getting more busy. I’m sure some of those teams won’t be super happy to see us (all’s fair in trivia and war)!
