Watching The Omen…(SPOILERS)

Time to settle in on a chilly fall afternoon and watch a creepy movie about  a creepy little demon boy! Yup, I’m  watching the 1976 horror film The Omen, starring Lee Remick and Gregory Peck.

It’s  off to a swimmingly  evil start! The mother doesn’t  know her REAL  baby died during childbirth and Daddy switched the baby out with one whose mama died in childbirth (this baby happens to be the spawn of Satan). Also, a young nanny just hanged herself  at the devil boy’s  fifth birthday  party.

Gotta love those religion-driven ’70s horror  films (its relatives include Rosemary’s Baby, The Exorcist, multiple sequels of The Omen and The Exorcist). What’s  more terrifying  than the… (shudder) Catholic  faith? Those  creepy nuns, priests, and dogma, dogma and even MORE dogma! With blood/body  of Christ references  thrown in liberally  for good measure. God, I’m  going to Hell, aren’t I? Well, I might as well go for the box seats (LOL). With that said…

Is it kinky  for me to think exorcisms are…kind of… hot? There’s  just something so sexy about a priest telling Satan forcefully to GTFO while a hapless child (more typically a hot teenage girl) flails about wildly, maybe speaking  in tongues. Is this just me?

Pardon me while I get back to the Adventures of Damien The Devil Boy… (and Atticus Finch)!
