Finally  getting around to watching Captain Marvel. After seeing stores of old in the movie that have since shuttered – including Radio Shack and Blockbuster – and also seeing boxy  cars, I was curious when the movie was supposed to be set.

“I’d really like to see some fashions,” I said  to my husband (keep in mind this was before Carol Danvers started wearing a nine inch nails T shirt).

Then he says, “Look, Stan Lee is reading the script to Mallrats.

Bam! Has to be 1994 – or 1995 (I would later learn the movie is set in 1995).

In sort of related  news, I saw Joe Namath on TV  last night and pretended his age was a tiebreaker question. I guessed  he was born in 1942, then checked Google. Only off by 1 (he was born in 1943).

The trivia competition  doesn’t  stop when the game is over!
