In the 1986 “fish out of water” comedy Back to School, Rodney Dangerfield (Thornton Melon), enrolls as a freshman in college. Since he’s rich, he can afford to pay people to write his English papers for him, so he hires Kurt Vonnegut to write one of his papers. Upon reading the paper, his professor flunks him – and says, “Whomever you hired to write this paper doesn’t know the first thing about Kurt Vonnegut.” So Thornton fires Kurt Vonnegut…Maybe it’s just me, but this kind of comedy tickles me every time!
