I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for continuing to follow this blog site. It’s certainly been a rough week and a half for me- we’re all still reeling from the death of our beloved friend Archie. We all had an “informal wake” today at a tailgate near U of M stadium…and the mood was definitely somber at times (maybe Kleenex should’ve been added to the regular tailgate supplies). Here are some pics from today:

I ALMOST made it into this jammed selfie!

My “tailgate” outfit! Borrowed T from my dad. I think I was the only one wearing yellow shorts! They’re usually my “bum around the house” shorts, but I found another use for them today… We found a “free” spot to park only about a half mile away.
It was great being able to meet Archie’s “extended football family” today. I told myself I wasn’t going to drink today, but when someone said that some of Archie’s leftover vodka from his house was there – and waiting to be drunk – well, I didn’t need much persuading to make some vodka cranberry cocktails! Being the creative mixologist that I am, I added some fruit from a fruit salad to my cocktails, too (boy did the fruit get soaked with vodka… oh Nelly)!
We learned during the tailgate party that some asshole decided it was a good idea to break into Archie’s home. The home of a dead man – in broad daylight. Two of his televisions were taken – I can only hope that the drug money someone might be lucky enough to get from a pawn shop for his outdated TVs will help brighten up their miserable existence. Even if only for a hour or so…(go you).
My husband and I live near Archie, so we decided to stop by after the party. His sister-in-law was there – she was supposed to have met with a Realtor earlier who didn’t show. His brother was en route and was going to pack up some more of his things in a trailer.
So weird to be in his house without him in it…
