Special effects guru Steve Johnson designed the angry ghost character “Slimer” for the 1984 film Ghostbusters. He has said that a late-night cocaine binge in which he claimed to have been visited by John Belushi’s ghost helped bring “Slimer” to life after several months of having worked on it.
