Apparently U.S. TV viewers weren’t very interested in watching a TV show about a divorced man navigating his way through a woman-dominated world… Vis a vis the 1980 TV series Ladies’ Man, which ran for just one season on CBS from October, 1980 to February, 1981. The plot centered on Allen Thackeray (played by Lawrence Pressman, whom would later appear on Doogie Howser, M.D.) raising his daughter as a single dad and working at a magazine as a features writer surrounded by women (the only male co-worker he had was an accountant).
