Second-Highest Scoring Game Of The Season!

Turned out to be a fun trivia night Thursday at Original Gravity, with a score of 125 points (our second highest of the current season)! Dave surprised us by bringing back pints of beer for Mike and I – and a beer for himself – after waiting in line for more than 10 minutes (unsure how he managed to grow a third hand to do this AND not spill any of them, LOL)! Occasionally there are “warm fuzzy” moments like that with our team – he even grabbed the beers he knew we liked best (Spincast)! The bar was extra busy because of a new beer release (cars were parked all up and down the street). We ALMOST didn’t get a table, but a table opened up right before game time. We’d kind of been “eyeing” the people at the table, whose glasses and food dishes were empty (a bunch of women just chatting). We’re nothing if not “seasoned” barflies!

Even Mike had a pretty good time (the poor dear was pretty worn out from having wrapped up deadlines for one magazine and a giant supplement that day), though he said he would have suggested wagering 20 on the “animated TV” final question (he was cashing out at the bar while the wagering was going on)! Turns out we were able to name two of those series, but unsure if the host would have accepted “World of Gumball” as correct instead of “Amazing World of Gumball.” Excellent teamwork on the “boy bands” mystery round! Evan, as always, brought his A-game, and I remembered the capital city of Barbados (pssst…the country name and the capital city name start with the same letter).

I congratulated one of the players sitting at the bar for singlehandedly putting his team in first place at a new nearby trivia spot. His surprised reaction was like “Huh, what,” then he thanked me. If I didn’t know better, I would guess that he had NO idea how well he’s been doing at this trivia spot! Hmmm, a trivia  battle on two fronts (my inner Civil War general likes this strategy). Divide and conquer?  I remember when my team used to do things like this! Nowadays, we’re just waging our own little “ground war,” with us engaging in little trivia “skirmishes” all over the area.

Full recap of that game coming soon…
