Hey blog readers, Happy New Year to y’all! I am in the midst of putting together yet another “study topic” blog! This one is all about that elite group of folks who have Emmy, Oscar, Grammy and Tony awards (commonly abbreviated as EGOT winners). Rather than just provide a mere list of names (how boring is that), I’m actually taking the time to find out WHAT these folks got their respective awards for doing! I’m sure it absolutely KILLED John Gielgud to have received his only Oscar for playing Dudley Moore’s stuffy man servant in the 1981 movie Arthur.

John Gielgud and Dudley Moore in Arthur
My team will be engaging in trivia battle Wednesday night, so sadly, you’ll have to wait until Thursday for a game recap!
I’ve gotten through nine folks on the EGOT list so far – Richard Rodgers, Helen Hayes, Rita Moreno, John Gielgud, Audrey Hepburn, Marvin Hamlisch, Jonathan Tunick, Mel Brooks, and Mike Nichols. Still left to go are Scott Rudin, Robert Lopez, John Legend, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. You’ll have to excuse me, but typing up all of the Tony Awards won by Mike Nichols was a bit…exhausting! I had no IDEA that he had so many Tony Awards! I shall put that blog to bed and work on it a bit more on Wednesday!

The mead selections were a bit picked over today at Meijer (go figure). We bought the last two bottles of these. Better brush up on my Latin!
I hope everyone is having a good time watching football or nursing hangovers today. Or dreaming up New Year’s resolutions you will not stick to. On that note…ta! It’s drink ‘o clock! I bought another bottle of mead for tonight, this one is mango and black pepper flavored. Hmmmm…interesting! That agave mead we had last night was pretty delicious! I may not be a wine drinker, but when I get the opportunity to drink mead, I always enjoy it! We have a neighbor who brews his own beer and mead, and gave us some mead to try. I described it to him as being so good that it tasted like it was from Elrond’s private reserve (it certainly made me feel as sprightly and cheerful as an elf, LOL).
As I said…it’s “Drink ‘o Clock!”
