I went to the dentist today to find out the truth about my tooth. They took some X-rays, and determined I have a cavity underneath a filling that was replaced two years ago. It was a dicey job that they managed to accomplish within mere millimeters of the nerve.

Because of my husband’s employer changing its dental coverage, we have to find a new dentist as of Jan. 1, 2019. So unless I get a favorable “second opinion” from our new dentist? It looks like the tooth has got to go. It’s either extraction – or root canal.

It’s a back tooth, so the dentist said extracting shouldn’t impact things too much.

Now for the good news! Here’s what my dear husband bought me for Christmas today at Meijer:

I had a water pik back when I had braces. I’m not really a fan of flossing, so I’m hoping that using this regularly will ensure I get to keep the rest of my teeth! I’ve already used it once! Might not be the most romantic gift in the world, but it’s what I wanted !
