I learned today that a character from the 1980s animated TV series My Little Pony shares her name with the song used in the ending titles sequence from the 1994 film Pulp Fiction. I only recently learned that the track used in the film’s end credits is titled Surf Rider. It SOUNDS kind of like the guitar stylings of legendary “surf rock” guitarist Dick Dale, but no – this was recorded by the 1960s “surf” band called “The Lively Ones.”
The OPENING credits music was performed by Dick Dale & His Del Tones. That track is called Misirlou. Arguably, the song helps set the mood/ stage for the entire film. Seriously, though…if you skip through opening credits music on ANY Quentin Tarantino film? I’m just going to say YOU HAVE NO SOUL!
