Any Of You Ever Play A “Wild Bill” Trivia Show? Huge News!

Editor’s Note: This has been copied and pasted from a post made by Sporcle Live trivia host “Wild Bill.”

Today is the VERY LAST DAY EVER for Re-Racks and Early Bird Points!!! The whiners and the haters have raised such a stink that I am being forced to discontinue them both (along with the bonus points for the last question on the Quiz of the Day for Game 2). To everyone who has told me how much they enjoy my show more than all the other Sporcle Live shows, I’m sorry, but my show will now be exactly the same as every other show. Individuality is now illegal. Conformity is now the law. 😦

With no more Early Bird Points, there will no be no more opportunity to achieve an “Everest.” There have only been a small handful of teams that ever achieved such a feat (every question right, in descending order, with an Early Bird on every question). I believe The Moops were the first team to accomplish it, WAY BACK in the day. Only one team (The Curmudgeons) have ever finished a game with the maximum 100 points. There were another 2 or 3 teams (4 max) that had 80 points going into the Final, but only The Curmudgeons had the balls to wager all 20 and get the Perfect 100 score (they even had a Ken Jennings lead on 2nd place, so they could have wagered zero and guaranteed themselves the first place prize, but they wagered 20 anyway).

Last night, at Grand Tavern Livonia, on the eve of extinction, we had 2 teams that came very close to an Everest. “Sarah Who?” managed to maintain it all the way to Question 9 before falling off the mountain. They were also one of three teams that received the very last “12” that I’ll ever put in a single column on the Spreadsheet (The Double Shot Category was Question 1, so they got 10, plus the Nerd Point, plus the Early Bird Point). It was very rare that I ever put “12” in a single column, so it was nice to see 3 teams get it last night.

“Nick at Trivia Nite” were hanging in there right with them on their “Almost an Everest.” They missed the Nerd Point on Question 1, so it technically wasn’t an Everest from the beginning, but that was literally the ONLY point they didn’t get the entire game. They finished with an astounding 99 points!!! Very few teams have ever broken the 95 point mark (heck even 90 points was rare). So congrats to them for closing out the Early Bird Points in such spectacular fashion!!!

Tonight I will be hosting at Ashley’s Beer & Grill of Westland starting at 9pm. This will be the ABSOLUTE LAST OPPORTUNITY to use a Re-Rack and/or earn some Early Bird Points. Come out and say goodbye to them while you still can. They won’t ever be coming back. 😦
