Trivia Recap – June 29, 2018 – Original Gravity Brewing Co.

Editor’s Note: This will likely be edited later on Friday…

Four ‘Pods, a “guest,” and a “guest of a guest” converged at Original Gravity Brewing Co. for its Sporcle Live trivia scene Thursday. The standings at the bar have changed a bit, with Big Heads Big Hearts moving into first place with 103 league points and This Is Sparta dropping to second with 99 league points. The third and fourth place standings haven’t changed, with Where’s Trey in third with 94 points and us in fourth with 82 points. But it does appear that things are tightening up! When looking at total cumulative scores, our team should be in third place, not fourth – but standings are determined by “league points,” which are based on game wins (win more games, get more league points).  We managed to win a first place prize in game one, finished in third overall for the night. It still all comes down to “that” final venue tournament game and I REFUSE to think for even one second that our team doesn’t have a chance of winning a tournament spot at the end! I think it will probably come down to a showdown between us and Big Heads Big Hearts, but I ain’t no Nostradamus! If the events of the current World Cup are any indicator, anything can happen. The 2014 World Cup champions Germany exited the tournament in the first rounds. Japan advanced to the “knockout stage.” Senegal was eliminated on a technicality (fair play tiebreaker). Too bad…the Senegal coach is so hot!
