Finally Saw “Black Panther” Tonight…

My husband and I went to a second run “dollar theater” and saw The Black Panther tonight. It was as much of an amazing visual spectacle as you would expect an entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to be. There were some great characters, fantastic costumes, great battle scenes, great story (though not an entirely plausible story).

I’ll try to have a more “detailed” blog about this posted on Thursday. But I was deeply disappointed with a title character having such an utter lack of personality. Though he did look pretty awesome in his “Black Panther” costume!  And I couldn’t totally buy an African country having a natural resource that the Belgians, French, Dutch, and British hadn’t already discovered and exploited centuries ago for their benefit. I know there is suspending of disbelief that has to happen when watching some movies, but…I just wasn’t buying this storyline!

However, “The Adventures of Bilbo and Gollum and a bunch of natives in Wakanda” wasn’t entirely un-enjoyable. Should I do another blog about this on Thursday, I’ll explain more about my “alternate” name for this film!
