Today’s the day. As weird as it feels to write this, today we will attempt to defend our “title” as last season’s My Trivia Live league champions. And of course when I think of “defend our title,” I think about boxing, which is not something I know a lot about, except for the movies. An underrated underdog battles formidable rivals and overwhelming odds and comes out on top at the end. Isn’t that how the plots of nearly every boxing movie go? Today we will attempt to “defend our title” at McShane’s Pub in Ypsilanti. But this will only be the first step – if we end up as one of the advancing teams today, we will play in the final “bout” on Saturday, Oct. 21 at Aubree’s in South Lyon. The main reason we really hope we make it today is we like the drive up to South Lyon! We get to take all country roads to get there, so it’s kind of idyllic, even more so with fall colors to check out (I really love this time of year). A couple of us played in the MTL finals there in May, 2016, and we wound up finishing in 10th place (not bad for our first MTL finals).

Some teams out there probably view us as one of the teams to beat, and that’s all fine and good – because it works both ways! We have our teams we like to beat, too! And you know who you are. Rivalry and competition is good! For the rest of you – those who don’t secretly wish for us to fall on our faces today – wish us luck!
