Today, while my husband and I were grocery shopping, I was feeling optimistic –Â and decided to take a peek at the beer and seltzer shelves.
I’ve been alcohol free for more than 150 days now. Quit cold turkey in late October.
I thought to myself… 🤔
“Will they have something without alcohol on the booze shelf today?”
Lol and behold, they did! 😊😲

I wasn’t expecting much. I’ve tried other private label beers from Aldi before, and have been disappointed. Their hard seltzer under the Vista Bay label is very good. The beer? Meh.
I put a couple of these in the freezer and set a timer for 45 minutes to chill them down. I wanted to have a couple while playing a virtual trivia game with some friends tonight.
The verdict? I was pleasantly surprised! Full body, light hoppiness, clean finish. Very refreshing, would be great for warm weather activities or camping (though I prefer cans for that). It would be good to have with drinking friends.
I like it better than Heineken Zero and Stella NA. No skunkiness! Any seasoned beer drinker knows what this means (it means exactly what you think it means…and it’s gross 🤢).
I would definitely buy it again –Â and recommend it to other former beer drinkers who are cutting back – or have broken up with alcohol entirely.
I won’t get too excited, because I know Aldi doesn’t always have the same things every time you go because of space limitations. But I’ll keep my eye on the booze shelves at Aldi every time I visit!
