Last week, we played our 885th ever Sporcle Events trivia game in the always  bustling Wednesday night trivia scene at the “Corner Brewery” in Ypsi, MI.

We typically only play the Monday night music quiz games at the Corner Brewery, but last week, we also played the Wednesday night general knowledge trivia scene. We finished fifth out of 18 teams, which qualifies as “didn’t embarrass ourselves!”

As usual, we’ll play the Monday music quiz game on Presidents Day.

There are some key words in that first paragraph that will be driving our trivial pursuits over the next few weeks! There may be some ch…ch…ch…changes! Sounds better coming out of David Bowie (rest his soul) 😢

If you guessed that the key words were “Sporcle Events,”and “885th,” you’re correct!

I’m setting my sights on reaching that 900th game. No, there aren’t any special prizes for this, nor are there executive washroom privileges, and no designated parking spots. Like those crazy Everest climbers, we’ll do it because it’s “there.”

It’s good timing, really. Focusing on just Sporcle Events games while the My Trivia Live 3,000 week season is winding down might be a good idea 😂 

OK, OK, the current MTL season is only 29 weeks long, not 3,000!

I do wish there was another option to qualify for MTL tournaments besides playing every week at one spot – or playing almost every night in a combination of other spots (which they call “travel,” or some players call “barhop.”) Maybe something between these two extremes of trivia addictions?

Unless I meet a Genii soon, That’s not gonna happen! 

If I were to meet a Genii, or Djinn, or Genie, or Kazaam played by Shaq – I’d say “no thank you” if they offered me the option of having a wish granted. Yes really! My willpower is iron clad. I quit drinking cold turkey in October. Try me! Come at me, you tempting Genie! 😂

I’ve seen too many TV shows and movies where these things go horribly wrong. Nope!

Does this mean that when the new MTL season opens later this spring we might set our sights on trying to qualify at McShane’s again? Maybe! That depends upon the availability of other players, timing of end of season tournaments and other things.

I try to shy away from too much planning of anything anymore lest the plans have to be scrapped!

But playing that 900th game is a very do-able goal! I’ll just have to figure out where and when I want to do it 😀
