January, 2026 Trivia Pursuits Roundup

My decision to use this GIF for this post was for entertainment purposes only! Though we did have a question about this guy in a trivia game last month! πŸ˜‚

I went out for six trivia games during the month of January, 2026. Three of those games were Sporcle Events music quiz games, two were played at our “local” bar aka Corner Brewery, and one was played at Becker’s Bar in New Hudson.

Music Quiz was canceled the first two weeks of January at our “regular” bar so we played at Becker’s to get our “fix” of music quiz. My music quiz pardner Kim is much more of a music trivia crackhead than I am, so I think she played two games there, and I just played the one.

That drive out there after a snowstorm – NOPE!

We (my husband and I) also played three general knowledge trivia games – two My Trivia Live games at McShane’s Pub in Ypsilanti, and one Sporcle Events game at Oscar’s Pub in Saline.

We started off the year with a bang (perfect score heading into the final) January 1 at McShane’s, then a thud when we choked on the final question!

It’s all part of our playbook, after all! If you achieve ultimate trivia perfection, what’s left to keep fighting for? πŸ˜‚

Still, as of this posting, no other teams at McShane’s so far this season have logged a 73 point game. Several have come close!

So what’s in store for February, 2026? A couple of things – I’ll post my very own set of “birthday” trivia questions about whatever I choose to quiz y’all about very soon! Spoiler, a good number of the questions are about music related stuff. It’s to be expected – I have been playing in a lot of music trivia games over the past year, after all.

Also big news is I plan to do a one-time only “team” trivia game on a Wednesday at Corner Brewery soon! I’m only doing this because I’ll have five players (allegedly) for the game, and one of those players doesn’t drive to trivia games. So I’m doing this to accommodate “that guy.” Yeah, that’s the kind of person that I am – needs of the many outweigh than the needs of the one?

I really want my friends around for this game, and that’s the important thing! I’ll do whatever it takes to bring them together – AND get my trivia fix!

In this case, the needs of the one person who won’t drive to trivia games are greater than the needs of the many? πŸ€”

But that’s OK! It’s a good gathering place when you’ll have enough players to field a basketball team -a baseball team  – or a soccer team – though maybe not as much as a football team or high school glee club!

Well, it’s a Spock thing anyway! And Spock is nerd-cool! πŸ€“πŸ˜ŽπŸ‘
