Trivia Plans – Week of October 6, 2025

I haven’t done one of these “trivia plans” posts in a while. But there are a couple of exciting  things to report this time!

To kick off the week, we’ll do a Sporcle Events music trivia game Monday at the “Corner Brewery.”

We remain at the top of the leaderboard…for now! Holding onto to the top spot will be a challenge!

My husband has such a crush on Chynna Phillips!

We plan to play the remaining games left in the season, which I think is six?

Tuesday, my husband and I plan to check out the Sporcle Events Addams Family theme trivia night at Sticks.

I do love a trivia theme night! No questions about sports! 😅

After that, trivia nights are TBD. Game day decisions.

Saturday is “the big dance,” aka the My Trivia Live finals. Top three teams win cash.

We’ve only managed to win cash in one of these things twice – in July, 2017 and December, 2019.

We have made the top ten a few times, and a team that I sat in with finished one place out of the cash zone in April, 2019.

This was the first time this team had ever qualified for a finals after several tries in the past.

I’m not saying anything more about that (actually I kind of am). Poor sportsmanship from other players can be a thing in trivia, sadly enough.

Moving on! That ship has sailed. It took me a minute to get over that, but I am “almost” completely over it. I’ll never completely forgive the person involved. It was a shitty thing to do. And one of the guys on the team I played with was crushed by this.

I was guilty of unsporting behavior at a trivia game a few years ago when I was less than cordial when someone celebrating their perfect trivia game approached me at my table when I was alone.  I panicked and reacted poorly. I stopped playing trivia games in that league until 2024 when my self-imposed exile ended (at the request of a trivia host and friend).

This was the first live trivia game I’d played since the plague shutdowns, and obviously my social anxiety was still pretty severe.

Even before the pandemic I wasn’t the most social person in the world. Stay at home orders and fears of catching a deadly virus exacerbated all of that.

No, that doesn’t excuse my behavior (I know, I know).

In happier news, I’m looking forward to a pretty country drive to finals in South Lyon Saturday. I’m hoping we can hit up a place that sells pumpkins, cider and doughnuts on the way home. 😋

I’m not giving up waiting for actual fall weather! And other things I love about fall 🎃 👻 🍂 🍁
